Can't Sleep!

Saturday was Daltons graduation Surprise party and he was very much surprised!! I was so happy when I saw his face light up when everyone stood from the garage and yelled surprise! We had a lot of food that Daltons Grandpa Maze generously cooked all day long! The basement was decorated and there were tons of people, drinks, a beautiful chef cake and pictures of Daltons life! It really was a great night! He was so happy all night long and you could really tell it!
Sunday, we didn't do too much. Dalton worked at the country club while I cleaned the apartment and kept up with the pups.
Monday, I had to make up a test for my anatomy class. I actually did better than expected! Tuesday, I had my CNA class all day. I practiced doing blood pressures for my state exam and we just had class all day long!
Today I have an appointment with the Disability Services at school so when I go back in the hospital it won't be so screwed up. This past time I went in I missed like 5 weeks of school and work and it just wasn't good at all. But, I am getting caught back up with my class.

St. Louis at night
This is just a rambling blog. It's 3:42 am and I just can't sleep at all! Partly due to coughing and just the fact that I sometimes wake up at random times!! So, I am watching DVR'd episodes of the King of Queens. Boring, I know! But Marley and Bo have energy early this morning. Lucky for them, they get to go back to sleep anytime during the day that they want! Until next time...

Graduation Pictures!

Graduation Day!!!

I am overly excited for Dalton today! He is graduation culinary school, something we have been waiting for for a very long time! He is so nervous. Last night he asked me 'what if they quiz me on stage before giving me my diploma and I get it wrong?' I just simply go, 'you don't graduate!' Ha, maybe that was a little harsh, but he knew I was kidding! He tried on his new chef uniform for m last night. Instead of wearing a little beanie he now has a giant chefs hat. He also got a new chef coat and is required to wear black pants. He looked so good!!
Today is what, the third day of spring? This morning I woke up to my car covered in snow and it being about 30 degrees outside. On my way to work it was sleeting and now in just a matter of 15 minutes it is now snowing very large flakes. Just a few days ago I was wearing flip flops and short sleeves. I hate this weather change and I am soo ready for spring and summer!!
This work week is almost over!! Graduation is just 5 short hours! I am so proud!!
Love to all!

Nursing School

This is completely random, but too funny!
I am praying to God that I get into nursing school in Kentucky. I desperately miss my wonderful friends and family and only feel guilt because it feels that I just walked out on them. Maybe they understand, maybe they don't. I picked up my wedding dress today and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I really hope Dalton loves it! I also just found out that I can't go back to my A&P class until I get the two tests made up from when I was sick. Come on, really?!

Stressed to the MAX!

So, Dalton graduates on Friday from Culinary school! I am SO excited, proud, inspired because of everything he has accomplished despite some difficult times.
This, by the way, is Dalton. My rock, my guiding light, my one true love. He is such an inspiration to me. I love him with all of my heart! I can't wait until we get married this summer and actually begin our life together. Being married won't actually be different than what we are doing now besides a joint banking account and a ring on his finger, and TWO on mine!
For those of you who don't know, I will update you on the story of Dalton and I and how we ended up where we are!

We both have Cystic Fibrosis (in my previous blog). I am originally from Kentucky and one of my family friends (Sandy/Kaylee Maze) also had CF. She traveled to St. Louis to receive a double lung transplant and they ended up meeting Dalton's mom, who is a nurse at the hospital they were staying in and the two families became extremely close. Kaylee passed away because of rejection of her new lungs but the families still talked. Sandy (KY CF mom) and Renee (Daltons mom) added each other on facebook. I got the brilliant idea to also add her since I wanted to stay in the CF loop! I noticed on July 31, 2009 that he was in the hospital and decided to facebook message him and tell him that I also had CF and despite living 8 hours from one another and never even meeting, I offered an ear if he ever wanted to talk. (Plus, he was extremely cute and I couldn't pass up another cute CF'er!) I was extremely surprised when I received a response on August 1, even if it read; 'I'm sorry, but do I know you?' That is what started it all! I instantly fell head over heels for Dalton. We would talk about anything and everything. We eventually got to where we would skype and at the end of August decided he would come to Kentucky for a visit. Of course I was extremely excited but Dalton told me that he had burkholderia cepacia. This particular bug for CF'ers is extremely resistant to all medications and causes many complications. But for some reason, I wasn't hesitant at all to have him visit. Somehow I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with this guy.
The first visit came and gone and by December, we had many visits between the two of us and we decided that this was for real and we wanted to move in together. I moved to Missouri in January 2010 and have been here ever since! The rest is history, but that is what happened in a jist! He truly is the love of my life and thanks to God and sweet precious Kaylee, I am forever blessed...

RIP Kaylee Maze

Me

Hi. My name is Katie and this is a place to just randomly put what I may be thinking. This is good for two people. The first is you because you get to read what exciting things I may have opinions on or what is going on in my life! The second is myself because this will help me to get things out and hopefully not be as stressed!
A little about me. I am 20 years old and am in my 2nd year of college. I live near St. Louis, Missouri. I am studying nursing (I think!). I have 2 dogs, a girl named Marley and a boy named Bo! They are my life! I also have a fiance named Dalton. Dalton and I both have Cystic Fibrosis. In short, it causes severe lung damage and there is always thick mucus that we have to try to cough up. But, CF puts us both in the hospital quite frequently, so that is just something else to have to worry about! Dalton and I are getting married on July 16, 2011 in Kentucky (where I am from).

My first topic of the day is: school. I am having such a horrible time with school right now just because of the fact that I missed a month due to being sick. I am always one to stay on top of all of my work and since I am taking two online classes I have A's in both of them! My Anatomy class isn't so great. I missed two tests and my grade sucks right now. Fortunatley, I have been able to stay on top of my quizzes (they are online) and get A's on all of those to raise my grade up! I am also going to school right now to get my CNA license and I missed two weeks of that class. So, until I get all caught up, things aren't going my way in school!
